Ending Period Poverty & Improving Female Reproductive and Sexual Health

One of our main causes here at MIDZI is Ending Period Poverty! This issue affects many women and girls, particularly those in Africa living below the poverty line and in places where talking about menstruation is still seen as a taboo.

The health and safety of millions of girls are at risk, and forcing millions of girls to stay home from school just because they can't afford pads or tampons! In some of the remote communities we work in, girls miss school 4 day per month due to period poverty. Women and girls resort to unsanitary solutions, such as rags, tissue, and even cow dung or mud. 

To address this, we have done pad distributions of 150000 packs to date, taught women and girls to make reusable sanitary towels.
